Director of Volunteer Resources Jessica Carner is a neighborhood gal growing up in the Highlands and attending St Francis of Assisi elementary school. She graduated from Assumption High School and then from Indiana University with a BA in Journalism.
Despite this, she is a die-hard Kentucky fan.
She’s the oldest of four girls so has had ample experience managing crowds and otherwise directing traffic. She honed these skills as an administrator with the American Red Cross where she devoted equal time working with volunteers and finance and “virtually every other job imaginable.” Always a volunteer, it was through her work at the Red Cross that Jessica found her deeper passion for volunteering and her desire to continue growing on this path.
Jessica now resides in Old Louisville with her cat, Dante and dogs, ChiChi, Mr. Cheech and Jake. She is an avid animal lover. In her downtime (which she used to enjoy) you’d find her walking her dogs in Central Park, volunteering with the elderly, sampling wines and ethnic food, or watching Project Runway.
